On the 12th June 2025, the CDT-GIF held our first annual conference. The conference was co-hosted with IDRIC, the Industrial Decarbonisation Research and Innovation Centre, and was attended by over 150 stakeholders from across government, industry, academia and the third sector. It was a packed day with opportunities to expand our thriving community, showcase our student’s work and hear from UK leaders in electrification, hydrogen systems and AI.

Cohort 1 were asked to present their PhD project as a research poster and convey their objectives, methods and potential impacts to the diverse audience members. In addition, we asked our students to present a ‘lightning talk’ during the plenary sessions to ‘advertise’ their poster. We are incredibly proud of the way our Cohort 1 communicated their research. All presentations were really impressive and at a very high level. Congratulations to all our students!
